NASCAR — SS/26

Pit stop ‘78—a nod to the 78th year of NASCAR.
Collection Concept
°‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ This collection combines themes of nostalgia, vintage fashion, and Naval inspiration, the capsule collection evokes the free-spirited attitude of San Diego, California, where NASCAR’s upcoming race takes place in June of 2026.
°‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ Pit Stop ‘78 creates NASCAR-branded merchandise that could be worn every day and be a collectible piece in wardrobes across a variety of demographics.
Design Process & Inspiration
°‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ Our collection is a culmination of a two-semester-long process, where we collaborated, researched, and designed garments to create and envision a refreshing take on a classic style.
°‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ The design process focused on translating the excitement of NASCAR into fashion-forward silhouettes while incorporating elements of vintage American style, streetwear, and the relaxed spirit of San Diego.
Garment Development
°‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ Each piece was developed through concept research, material selection, sketching, and detailed garment construction to create a collection that feels both authentic to NASCAR and relevant to a new generation of fans.
°‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ Throughout the development process, I worked closely with a fit model during fitting sessions to refine proportions, improve comfort, and perfect the functionality and overall fit of each garment.
Fit Development
°‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ The collection was presented to the NASCAR team through design reviews, where I shared the creative direction, inspiration, and evolution behind each piece.
°‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ These presentations allowed for collaboration and feedback, shaping the final collection into a balance of performance, lifestyle, and contemporary fashion.
Technical Documentation
°‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ As part of the NASCAR collection development process, I created detailed technical documentation to support the production and execution of each garment.
°‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ This included tech packs, BOMs (Bill of Materials), POM (Point of Measurement) guides, and a label guide developed for the tee to communicate construction details, materials, measurements, and branding requirements clearly.
Accessory Design
°‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ The collection included multiple garment categories, including the jacket, skirt and tee set, jumpsuit, and a paperboy hat designed to complement the overall collection.
°‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ The paperboy hat featured hand-sewn patches created specifically to coordinate with each garment set, bringing together the visual identity of the collection while adding a handcrafted detail.
Final Development
°‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ The entire collection was developed with guidance and feedback from the NASCAR team, allowing the designs to reflect the brand’s identity while introducing a contemporary fashion perspective.
